Is getting out of the car the hardest part of every appointment?

For the days out together
Folding Stand-Assist Cane
Something steady to push on at the car door, the café chair, and the low sofa. Then it folds into the car.
A folding walking cane with a second, lower handle. Push down on the lower handle as you rise from a seat, then fold it flat and walk with the main T-handle as normal.
Everything about this cane is built for two jobs: getting you up from the seat, then getting you where you're going.
The second handle
The lower handle folds out from the shaft and sits much closer to seat height than a normal cane handle. Push down on it as you rise from the car seat, a dining chair or a low sofa, with your other hand on the chair arm or the main handle.
Once you're up, fold it flat against the shaft and walk with the main handle as normal.
Folding design
The shaft folds into 4 sections, compact enough to keep in the car or carry in a bag. That means it's with you at the appointment, the lunch and the visit, not leaning against a wall at home.
Unfold it, let the sections click into place, and it's ready.
Four-foot base
The base spreads onto four rubber-tipped feet rather than a single tip, and a rubber shock-absorbing system sits in the shaft to soften each step.
Built into the handle
The T-handle has a soft EVA foam grip, an LED light for dark car parks, driveways and hallways, and an alarm button that makes a loud sound to get the attention of people nearby.
The car door at the doctor's office. The low chair at lunch. The soft sofa at a friend's. The restroom with nothing to hold.
So a family member becomes the handle. And if outings have started to feel like something to get through, that's a completely normal way to feel.
This cane adds a second, lower handle to push on while you rise, right beside the seat. Once you're up, it folds away and the main handle takes over for walking.
For anyone who finds getting up hard, and for the family who help them up.

In their own words
Short videos from customers and their families about life with Steadihand.
Handles fixed under a chair stay in the living room. Car handles stay in the car. This folds into 4 sections and goes wherever you sit.
No big promises. Just what it does.

To be fair: chair-mounted handles are very stable on the chair they're fitted to. If most of the struggle is one favourite chair at home, one of those may suit better.

Stand the cane close beside the seat with the base flat. Fold out the lower handle. Put one hand on it and the other on the chair arm or the main handle, lean forward, push down and rise. Then fold the lower handle away and walk with the main handle.
It adds a push point close to seat height, which is what's missing on most low seats. Very low or very soft seats are still harder to get up from, so practise at home first.
